Homebody is now available online during The London Open at The Whitechapel Gallery. Homebody envisions the afterlife of the human body. This sited work invites the listener to lie in their own bed, in their own home and imagine it is their body, surrounded by familiar objects. Available anytime from the Whitechapel’s website, the work considers the science of decomposition, social disintegration and the traces that remain once nature repossess the place we call home.

Our other piece selected for the show, Grey Granular Fist, which also explores the process of human decomposition, but in a museum or gallery space, is exhibited in Gallery 1.

Both works are on for the duration of the exhibition from 8 June until 26 August 2018, and are part of our series Afterlife.

The London Open 2018 brings together critical and dynamic art that reflects on the experience of living in a global city now. This triennial open submission exhibition features 22 artists working across painting, sculpture, performance and video.
